Mountainexploits is run by Chris.  A qualified UIMLA International Mountain Leader with experience of leading expeditions to both European and rest of the world destinations.  This is backed up by a full career as a Royal Marine commando.  Having served a full career which saw him serve around the globe, from the frozen wastes of Northern Norway to the depths of the Indonesian Jungle, he set up Mountainexploits to run alongside being a freelance outdoor activities instructor.  A life long keen mountaineer and outdoor enthusiast, whose part of service career was to lead others in adventure training packages both in the UK and Europe, he now uses his vast wealth of knowledge to lead, educate and facilitate others in the outdoor environment.
Chris is also an keen, active Fell and Trail runner.  His local area being the West Pennine Moors but loves to be in any of the mountainous areas of the UK and some of the fascinating Trail areas we have.  He has amongst other events has completed 2 Ironman Triathlons, The Manx Mountain marathon, Canalathon Ultra and West Pennine Moors Trail Marathon.

With previous skills including being a cold weather warfare instructor, defence GPS instructor and being jungle trained allows Chris to have a diverse range of knowledge.  This is all backed up by a ream of National Governing Body qualifications.
Chris lead an expedition to Borneo as well as being involved in the planning of an expedition to Mt Elbrus in the Caucasus region of Russia.  In 2013 lead an expedition to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
