A gusty UK 3 peaks
This weekend I was working on a 3 peaks challenge. The weather wasn't the best especially when we got down to the Lake District in the late hours of Saturday night. The cloud base was around 200m and lingmell beck was in full flow, luckily my mate Tom had been up earlier and gave me the tip on where to cross and also having his group just in front of mine, gave us a lift to get all the group across. To get on and off the summit required careful navigation. But with a sunny Snowdon all was well and the group managed to complete the challenge. Please be careful if you are attempting the 3 peaks without a leader and respect the hills and local environment. Here is a short video posted by Wasdale MRT on the Grough website e-magazine.

Yorkshire 3 Peaks
Over the past weekend I have been doing some freelance work carrying out some leading of teams on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. A great walk but not for the faint hearted as there is approximately 24 miles of walking involved with around 1600m of ascent and descent. The teams comprised of staff and associated personnel from Wilkinson's and had a great day out along with raising alot of money for their chosen charity of Age Uk. We had a selection of weather on each day with some lovely views of the Yorkshire Dales in glorious sunshine to just about being able to see the person in front and not much else due to the snow coming down. Well done to all those involved and good luck with the rest of the fundraising.

3 Peaks challenge
Over the past few days I have been working on the Scafell Pike leg of the 3 peaks challenge. Friday was an extremely hot day and plenty of liquids were required. Saturday evening and early Sunday morning saw teams taking part in the Asthma challenge, again in very mild conditions. Saturday evening I was leading Team 'Nutters' who had a really good steady ascent. A great bunch of guys and galls with friendly banter all the way round. Hope they managed to complete the challenge with their ascent of Snowdon then have a few well earned 'refreshments' at the evening function. 3 hours after completion with Team Nutters and I was off again along with Craig and a group of 14. A trail of headtorches saw us reach the col with the light coming up and no more need for the headtorches. A cracking view from the top with the sun just about to rise. Another steady ascent and good luck to the guys on completing their challenge.
