Dolomites and winter trips.
Should you be interested in snowshoeing I am intending to run a week in Bavaria towards the end of January 2104. I am currently negotiating with hotels for availability and cost but the intention is to have a week in South Bavaria staying in a 4* hotel with meals included, and 5 days guided snowshoeing. The week will be suitable for beginners, intermediates and those who wish to venture out in the Alpine winter terrain to seek fun, excitement and to see some nature.
To express your interest please feel free to contact via email or social network.
Further to this I am intending to run some winter skills courses in Scotland towards the end of February and into early March. These will be over 2 days and based in Aviemore. Again please feel to contact to express your interest and I will keep you updated.

Back out in the Allgäu

Snowshoeing above Oberjoch
To burn off some of the calories from yesterday, today I was snowshoeing on a route from Oberjoch in the Allgäu region.
With the snow falling down to 1200m it was hard going and quite windy on the ridge heading up to Jochschrofen from there I headed over to Ornach before heading back. Lunch was taken in a tree pit shelter which brought back memories. Good day out, didn't work though, turkey, rosti, Christmas pud for dinner.

Xmas in Bavaria
Out in Bavaria for a spell over the festive period. Taking advantage of the good snow conditions and doing some skiiing and snowshoeing. It's been a while since I was on skis and the last time was on telemarks, so yesterday was my first time out on fixed heel, but as they say its just like riding a bike. Now into the debate of 'free the heel'.
Today went out snowshoeing on the Imberger Horn to test out my new TSL 325 escapes. Enjoyed using them, nice and light. Hopefully get some more days in although due for a rise in temperature over the next couple of days.
