A sprinkling at last!

The moorland fires have continued through the week, during the early hours of this morning the moor above Pickup Bank was alight and fire crews where out tackling that and managed to get it under control by day break.  The crews tackling the Belmont area, which has been burning all week, were helped by the wind which blew it back on itself.  So tonights sprinkling of rain may help although due to the peat underneath on the moors the fires can burn deep.
