A day of 2 parts, one up one down

Yesterday was a great day out. It began with an early start off up to the car park above the Hill Inn then a 'quick' run up Ingleborough.  I've got some Yorkshire 3 Peaks events coming up in April so with the start of a new season it's time just to have quick refresh of the routes etc.
Not much to see at the summit shelter
It was mightly clagged in on the summit and gave a good chance to do some check bearings and confirm some nav before the events.

So once back down to the van it was time to fire up the stove and get some hot breakfast on the go prior to ...........
The rest of the gang turning up and we were off caving, once again in Great Douk.  This time with excellent conditions for caving, determination was set in and we were not going without finding the exit.  This may sound a bit daft but Great Douk can be done as a through trip and last time we didn't manage to find the exit so came back out the same way.  The exit is a little sly one and is a hole in the ceiling set to the left after a shortish low crawl on your belt buckle but once you find it this becomes a really good through trip for first timers and cavers early on in their career.  All in all it was an excellent day out and we were all well chuffed after completing the trip.
