Hill Skills Tutor and Walking Group Leader assessments

Mountain Training
Over the last couple of weeks I recently attended tutor training run by the Mountain Leader UK in order to be able to deliver the new Mountain Training UK Hill Skills course.
This is a two day course designed for beginner Hill walkers to give a practical understanding of how to plan walks, familiarity with map and compass along with what equipment is required. Other subjects addressed is the weather, emergencies and issues such as access to the upland environment.
For details of these courses please just drop me a line, give me a call, or contact via social media, details can be found alongside this post.

This week I have been working on a Walking Group Leader (WGL) assessment, which had a very successful outcome for the candidates, well done to all.
The WGL is to be phased out over the coming weeks with a new qualification named the Hill and Moorland Leader award replacing it.

Details of all the award schemes can be found on the Mountain Training website.
