So, not blogged for a while, apologies for that, but just got back from Switzerland where I successfully completed my IML summer assessment , that's sort of stage 1 out the way now moving onto stage 2 where I attempt the winter assessment hopefully in the winter of 12/13.  Switzerland was great, yeh its a bit pricey but worth it.  People say how some things are quite expensive in the huts, CHF 8 for a 1.5lt bottle of water, but when you consider it's either been flown up or carried up, then the guardian has to make a profit and you have to rehydrate anyway then it all kind of makes sense, so paying CHF 4 for a can of coke in the huts on your journey, sort of becomes the norm.  The scenery is fantastic with some amazing sights of the folding in the rock strata and a great array of flora.  Plenty of chamois and Ibex to see along the way, sometimes you have to watch out if they are above you for any loose rock coming down that they may have disturbed.  All in all a cracking experience, and now looking forward to being back in the UK hills and outdoors.  Still lots going on with navigation courses and some trail running experience days.  If there is anything in particular you fancy having a look at please feel free to drop me a line.  You can also follow me on Twitter. Have a good bank holiday!
